If you know anything about art, you know who Andy Warhol is..
If you are unfamiliar here is a little introduction:
Andy Warhol (August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was a painter, film maker, printer, photographer, author etc, etc, etc, etc. Mr. Warhol could take anything and turn it into art. Actually he considered everything and everyone as artist.
He was the leader in the visual arts movement POPART. Mr. Warhol became famous for his free spirit. His unique style was his own, and people respected him because he did exactly what he wanted and allowed know other artist nor critic to stop him.
One of Mr. Warhol’s painting’s were sold for US$100million, Eight Elvises. 100million is a benchmark that only 6-7 other artist in the world have every met. By the beginning of the 1960’s, Mr. Warhol had become a well known artist around the world. He loved to paint celebrities, dollar signs and brand names.
He was supported by friends, who suggested that he paint what he liked, and that is exactly what he did. For example, his famous campbell soup (which he claimed to eat for lunch for most of his life), sold for 10,000 at an auction on November 17th, 1971 in New York.
What I love about Mr. Warhol is that he surrounded him self with art because that is exactly what he loved to do. He felt at home with a paint brush or a camera. He loved being around art and thinking outside the box. He did not care what others thought about him because he knew what he was doing was going to benefit “himself” in the long run. He knew that creating an environment that ultimately made “himself” happy would create a life of enjoyment and pleasure for every day when he woke up.
Are you doing exactly what you want to do it in life? Are you motivated every singly day to wake up and strive towards a life that is filled with enjoyment and pleasure?
Mr. Warhol is the ideal example of following your dreams and doing what YOU want to do in life.
