BeAwesome: #15 Ego

Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it – Colin Powell

KW: Often Misunderstood

Usually people think that having an ego is bad. I think this is wrong. Ego is defined as having your very own identity. This is something we all need to eventually figure out. Yes, some people have big ego’s, and nine times out of ten they are taken the wrong way. Sometimes these individuals have a lack of respect for others, and only listen to ideas from themselves (shame on them). An ego is our way of creating one self. Ego is our way of separating from others. One of the biggest benefits of having an ego is its strength to push us to succeed. Having a strong ego will allow you to focus and block out negative energy. Be careful with your ego.  It can easily be taken the wrong way. If you do not practice having a good ego, you will lose friends, relationships and self respect. Sometimes you have to be selfish. Sometimes you have to look out for YOU. This type of attitude can play a major role in your happiness in life. Society is often looking for a second source to structure there living, don’t be in that category. The result of this is failure to achieve, feeling sorry for your self and unsatisfying emotions that will linger in your mind for a large portion of your life. Live your own life. Create a strong ego and be happy. Ego
