Be AWESOME Updates: New Line, Awesome Project, YouTube Collaboration and MORE!

Before anything, I would like to apologize for haven’t posting anything in a while. Things have been really busy here in Kuwait over the past number of weeks. In and between teaching and report cards, and finalizing some big ideas for the worlds fastest growing motivational brand, its been a ride I am sure I will never forget.

So what’s new:

My Life: Besides the 25 report cards I had to finish this week. The grades being entered into the computer. The NBA playoffs (My poor Clippers). Being sick (cold or some sort of flu). The past few weeks have been very challenging for me. I must say, I’ve had times were I looked myself in the computer screen (because that is where I usually am) and asked myself, is it worth it. And directly after these thoughts, I asked myself, why would I even think that. I believe that if you are trying to help others in ANY kind of what it is worth it. It is worth the heart ache. The pain and the suffering. So if you are out there like me, trying to make a difference in anyones life, through friendship, parenting, mentoring, anything! Don’t feel down or upset about it. Don’t let your ego, or hard work get in the way of making someone else’s life more fulfilling. Believe in good faith, and all that good faith will come back to you. Keep grinding everyone!

The NewsLetter: If you haven’t already you please check out our splash page. Notice the .CA (yes I am Canadian) if you did not know.ahah Oh. Canada! We are going to release a news letter a week, that will let everyone know what we are doing as an organization, and what they can look forward to as we prep for a crazy and fulfilled summer.

Charities/Organizations: We’ve locked down a number of cool charities and NGO’s that we are really excited about. We are unable to confirm their involvement just yet because of paper work that has to be filed and returned. We currently have 6 that are really interested, and 3 that have confirmed they want to get involved! For a start, that is AWESOME. The tough part about this is, I am still me. My friends know me, my followers (kinda know me), and these individuals, do not know me at all. I understand that it is hard to trust people now a days, and that is what I am trying to build this company with “TRUST”. To those of you who’ve given me the go, and have shown the smallest amount of interest, I am honoured and I thank you for that! Stay in the loop for more on these organizations and what they have to offer. We will be working with some awesome people!

Website: For me this has been the most challenging part of my early stages of building this brand. In the past it was easy (well not easy, but sort of in a way that I needed to get things and the word out there as fast as possible) things were kind of rushed, and not done professionally (in my opinion). This time everything is being done in progress. We are taking the steps to make this company “real”. Not just an online store. Not just a fancy website with cool pictures. We are going to re-vamp the way you look at websites and the value of information you receive.

Our new look is clean, photo heavy, and dependent on motivation and inspiration by you. You will find daily motivation to keep you going. Clean images for reminders of what life really means. People and stories to think about. We are giving you a place to come, relax, take some time out of your day and really find the meaning of life. What we have so far is #AWESOME. I cannot say more, about the guys at and what they’ve done for me as a new company. All I can say is stay tuned! You are sure to be impressed by our decisions on this website.

awesome10New Line: Lots of exciting news in regards to our new line and what we’ve decided to do with what the world provides to us. We are changing the look and feel of the shirts “entirely”. New logo’s (as you can see), new designs but the same motivation and purpose. We’ve taken a sweat-shop free approach to our-line that includes a number of incentives that we will release through our newsletter. We are excited about this change and we hope you are to. Our fitted tees and sweaters will be more dry, comfy and motivational. We plan to release a number of limited edition products as well.

The Awesome Project: If you haven’t read the news letter, I will give you a little run down, as to what this is all about. This project is about spreading Awesome around the world. We’ve decided that how else can we do this, other than taking a boat load of tees around the world each year and spreading them to everyone we possibly see and contact ourselves with. People on the airplane, restaurants, playgrounds, villages, families, schools, teams, you name it. Our goal is to visit 5 continents in 5 years and give out 200+ tees to a given country, state or province in each continent. Again, stay in the loop for more information on this project and how you can get involved!

Topic - Youtube-676854Youtube collaboration: I can’t give you too much on this until I sign the papers and send the information BUT let’s just say Be Awesome will (inshallah) be working with and up and coming YouTube start on a new Be Awesome Commercial!

Motivational Music For The Ears

BeAwesome: #328 Motivational Playlist

Love Music

Love Music

Please read Six Reasons You Should Let Your Child Listen to Hip Hop by Ross Simmonds. I know this is a lot of reading but it is definitely worth the read.

Music is so much more than just sound, video and lyrics. Music has a place in everyone’s heart for different reasons; first date, marriage, prom night. If you ask someone to tell you about a time they enjoyed music, and I’m sure they could come up with something entertaining. Have you ever heard someone say they do not like music? I haven’t. I’ve heard people talk about the different genres they enjoy, but never a dislike for music (in general).

Music is one of the most powerful weapons in the world. A piece of music has the ability to easily affect our emotions. How we think, and the way we go about our every day life. Music is often written based on the lives of the artists and their journey in life. Often their journeys and struggles are the same as ours. This is one way we connect to music and the artist. Music easily puts you in a mood. It causes your mood to swing: happy, sad, playful, sexy (amongst many others). This is one phenomena that has the ability to change the world. Unfortunately we use it in a more mainstream kind of way.

Motivational Playlist

If I told you everything music is used for I would writing this blog all day. As you already know, music is used to help, encourage, inspire, entertain, religion, rights, politics, therapy, fashion, video games, movies and sports (to name a few). We use music for healing all the time. We allow music to determine our moods, and what we think about.

BeAwesome: #321: Stop dreaming and start living

BeAwesome: #321: Stop dreaming and start living

Without struggle there is no progress—

I woke up from a dream and looked around. After noticing I was going to be late for work, I quickly washed up, grabbed an apple and headed to the bus. Once I arrived on the bus I started to think. What a nice dream I had.

-What is a dream? A series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep.

I was in the park. I was walking with a female friend. With us came a little girl and a little boy. As we walked, I remembered daddy and mommy being called by these two younger children. I remember ice-cream cones falling on the pavement. As we sat near a bench, in a nearby neighbourhood,  the my son yelled “Be Awesome” as he pointed to a young child that we did not know, playing on the playground. The young child was with her mom and older sister. I noticed  a bright sweater with positive words written across the front chest. We smiled, and went on with our day in the park.

While on the bus, an inner smile and joy started to arise. Yes, my dream was over but something stuck with me. Something started to play on my mind. How could I be so happy about a dream? What made me so happy? Something that is not real. Something that is made up. What is stopping me from feeling this way all the time? (This is an important question) This is when I came to a conclusion/and more questions:

Why do we continue to dream (literally) so big and allow ourselves to live an average life? In worst cases, why do we allow others to make these choices for us? How many of you reading this blog have been told what to do with your professional life? Personal life? What to buy? What to eat? And have actually considered all of these things because others said so? Why do we allow others to control different parts of our life. How many times have you said “yes” for the sake of saying yes? How many times have you actually tried to follow your dreams?

What do you get from dreaming?

Dreaming is not bad. It is what you do after you dream that is crucial. Do you allow this dream to just be a dream? Do you wake up and try to make this dream reality? Do you write stories and tell everyone about your dreams, but never really try to accomplish them? What do you do? Following a dream or doing something you love can easily decide whether or not your life or lifestyle will be satisfying. In our dreams, everything is perfect (at times). The sweat, tears and hard work that people do in real life does not exist in your dreams. We easily reach our full potential.

“In your dreams, everything is just the way you want it to be”

Dreaming is often (“sometimes”) a misconception of what we think and only “want” to happen. How often do we wake up and tell ourselves that we are going to make our dreams come true today (We should be doing this all the time). Do we ever ask ourselves, why not? Why can’t we do what we dream of (Super powers and flying do not count) Why can’t you make that feeling within a dream be real? You can, but it is entirely up to you to make it happen. This happening usually involves hard work.

 Start Living

Allow yourself to be happy every day by following your dreams. When you wake up from something special, give yourself a chance at it in real life. If you fail, so what? Big deal. Everyone must fail before they reach success. Following a dream or pursuing something you love has more value than a normal job or something you dislike. Start today. Stop dreaming and start living the dream.

When I think about the list above (2 name a few), I think about 4 things: Heart, Motive, Fire, Choice. What is it that separates the regular human being from these super humans? I’ve read a number of blogs, books and articles about why people do what they do. What motivates successful people? What allows others to rise above the norm and overcome obstacles many give up on? Where do they find a second gear?  How are these people so successful?

When people see the success of others, they often forget about the hardships they’ve faced before their fortune and fame. Before the makeovers and money. Being poor on the streets of New York, living in abandon buildings, living pay-check to pay-check, teen pregnancy, gang violence, peer pressure, bullying, rape, child abuse, obesity, name calling, disease, put-downs, head-aches, cancer, lost loved ones, a broken heart. Someone in the above list has overcome one, two or possibly three of these obstacles. What they do for a living now is what we see in the paper. What we see on the movie screen, on packages and clothing. The way these individuals reached their full potential is lost. The steps they went through is an after thought.

People forget that these super humans started from the ground up. They took a long look at obstacles and mountains and found ways to overcome and climb over them. They were not given empires of riches or a big house and a picket fence. Society was never threatened to like these individuals. They did something that the world has never seen before. They had motive to drive their determination. They used hardship and struggle to light their fire. They created a heart of hope and destiny. They left the world with no choice.

What you need to be a SUPERHUMAN:

One thing almost all successful people have is motive. Motive is the striving force behind your inspiration to be successful. This is the key that starts the engine. When you have motive (meaning) behind what you do, your job turns into passion. When you are living a passion, you do not work a day in your life. Motive is finding an experience that is negative or positive, and using it to benefit you in the future.

You can’t just wake up and decide that something is going to be my motive today. You can’t just steal a motive from a friend or pick up a motive from the super market. A motive is something that has been created through some type of experience (positive or negative) Maybe you want to prove a teacher or friend wrong about their idea of you being a doctor or a lawyer. Maybe you want to challenge a coach’s perspective on your chances of making it to the pros and being a superstar. What ever it is, you have to find it and grab a hold of it. Think deeply about what was said (not who said it) and use it to motivate you to be successful.

A lot of people have motives and reasons to do things. They make resolutions and promises to get things going (Get started). The beginning is always the easy part. You have a clear picture of what you want and how you are going to get there. Your confidence is at an all-time high and you feel good. The first few days are usually okay. The fire is fully lit. The next week. Sometimes the next month. The same thing. But after a while that fire is tampered with. Outside influences are trying to put your fire out. What do you do? What would a super-human do?

Outside influences and obstacles that tamper with your success only fuel the fire. You need to take that energy and that struggle and use it to continue to push towards what your ultimate goal is. Super-humans never allow outside influences to affect what they see as the big picture or final project. They continue to use everything in life to motivate (motive) them to keep going. That fire they have, sure it gets tampered with, but it continues to burn. And it burns until a task or goal is complete.

When you do something and you leave society with no choice but to pay attention to what you are doing, you are testing your will and power of achievement to be successful. Life is about choices. You can decide to quit. Give up. Or change your mind at anytime, but when you make up your mind to stick with a cause or a goal, that is when you will be successful. You will never get anything done, or finish it to the best of your ability if you allow others to influence it. When you decide to give society zero choice that is when people start to no you are serious. It takes time to figure out what you are good at. Maybe it is more than one or two things. But consistency and commitment to a choice is what people notice the most. Super-humans leave societies with no choice but to pay attention.

HEART: You have to have it inside you to make it happen (Plain and simple) Sure you must leave society with no choice, keep the fire burning, and find something that keeps you motivated (motive), but it all really comes down to one thing. That one thing is heart. If you can’t find it inside you to do what you love, or try to make a better living for yourself, you are not going to be able to follow through on plans you have for your future. You have to look inside yourself (internally) and believe what you see or write down can come true. You need to tell your self you can do it. Superhumans have it inside them. They breathe and sleep success. Why can’t you?

BeAwesome: #315 Diligence (How to grow success)

BeAwesome: #315 Diligence

Diligence is the mother of good luck- Benjamin Franklin

A special secret to success is diligence. Doing something with care and showing conscientiousness in your work every single day. 100% is not enough for you to get better or to make something great. It is about consistency. Giving and going beyond 100% and giving it that little bit extra. That is how special things/people are born. Everyone out there is doing 100% and working hard. You need to work that much harder to get over the top (110%). Think about it this way:

Growing a success plant:

You have to believe it is going to grow eventually. Start from the bottom up. You give your plant (your goals and dreams) your undivided attention. Add water (heart) and plant soil (determination). Understand if it needs to be damp or dry. Don’t over water it, check for the right consistency (work hard at it, but never over work yourself so the dream dies). Make sure you have proper lighting (Make sure you are doing what ever it takes to make your dreams come true). Select the best location for you to place your plant (Put yourself in a place that negative energy cannot affect you. Be brave enough to continue what you love to do). Add fertilizer to the soil (get help if you need it). A plant needs to eat too (Listen to others). Keep the temperature ideal. Just right. Choose a pot that is best for the plant. Some plants need larger pots so the roots will have room to grow. Check the humidity. (Give it 110%. Take pride in what you do and how you do it. It’s not about having the best plant. It is about preparing yourself to do your very best every single time)

When it comes down to it, you create your own success. Some people have connections or are born into successful families with more privilege, but everyone has to work hard to be truly successful. Diligence and patience is the key to this madness. Go beyond your ego, and get your hands dirty. Step outside your comfort zone and make a commitment to yourself to grow the best plant (for you) You are in competition with you. Do it the right way, and you will see your plant blossom in no time.

Champagne Birthday

Champagne Birthday

Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter- Mark Twain

I am not a big birthday person. But today is my 25th birthday. So old right?. I remember when I was small (like above), I use to love having parties and celebrating my birthday with lots of people. I really loved DQ ice cream cakes aswell. I am not really sure what happen to this idea, but I now think about birthdays in a new light. Today I want to thank a number of people for my birthday:

Mom & Dad:

I know I am miles and miles away but thank you for bringing me into this crazy thing we call a world. I have learned so much from you both. I remember when you use to wake me up to go to Big Moms in the morning for school. I remember being scared of my own dog (rip tanner) because he was ten times bigger than me. I remember piano lessons. And after two weeks ready to call it quits. I remember softball and hardball. Bats swinging and loud cheers from my dad. Black flies and mosquitos flying around my head, asking myself why did I get into this sport. I remember basketball games. Serious talks from my dad about life and being positive. I remember our trip to Disney land with NannaG. A parade. Seeing the other part of the border. And smiling from ear to ear. I remember university. The struggle. The commitment from two strong people to help me get through. Always putting me (and my sister) first. I remember superman (dad). Going through snowstorm after snowstorm. To pick

me up from an event at school. Mom and dad I remember everything you’ve done for me. And this day is just as much yours as it is mine. Someday I will repay you for what you’ve done for me. I thank you for being such great parents. And I wish you a happy birthday

I remember fighting with you over nothing. We use to do this all the time. I remember yelling at you because you would sing songs that I sing or rap lyrics that I rap (you still do this). I remember wanting to be like you. A great artist. Drawing and painting. Fashion designer. Smart and always liked by her peers. Willing to give anything to make others happy. Super family orientated. A singer (wink). Priorities all lined up and in order. Independent. Able to go through obstacles and conversations by yourself. And finding great solutions to solve problems on your own. I remember growing up together. A better understanding. Arguments. Disagreements. You’ve always been someone I could talk to. A secret always safe

in your arms. I know I have a funny way of showing it, but I love you and appreciate everything you’ve ever done for me. You are everything a sister should be, and again I am happy to be your brother. And I wish you a happy birthday

These two individuals have influenced my life more than anyone in the entire world. They are why I am here. I am a product of them. The memories and life lessons learned from these two individuals will forever be with me, and passed down, to the next generation. I remember Nanna kicking me and my cousins out of the house. I remember carrying in wood for Granddad. Cutting the lawn. Selling Christmas reefs. I remember Granddad picking us up from school. Basketball games. Piano. I remember him always being there when I needed him (and not just because Nanna said so) I remember Nanna and her Sandwiches. Peanut butter. Jelly. Turkey. Chicken. I remember not wanting to share. Holidays. Loads of people around the table. Grandad waiting for everyone to leave. I remember him driving. Nanna asking for baking products and other grocery store items. I love my grandparents with all my heart. Losing one of them last year hurt a lot. But understanding his legacy and what he’d want me to do today, for myself and my family. Nanna I love you. And like the individuals above, this is your(s) and Granddad birthday too. I wish you a happy birthday

Happy Birthday from Lebanon Beirut 🙂

BeAwesome: #314 Excited (10 Feel Good Videos)

When I’m inspired, I get excited because I can’t wait to see what I’ll come up with next- Dolly Parton

I can’t say I get excited much. Not sure what it is, but I really never get excited about anything. Do things spark my interest? Of course! But excitement, that is something I am unable to explain. I’ve had the opportunity now to travel and visit a variety of places. And by all means, these places have been beautiful. And I am blessed to have had the opportunity to see them. But was I excited? Again, I am not too sure about it.

Recently, I’ve found a few different things that excited. One thing I kind of already knew about, and the other was a light bulb moment. The first thing is candy. Hey, I have a sweet tooth for sour and chewy things. Can’t help it. The second thing is seeing others overcome obstacles or be nice to people. Is that strange? Personally, I don’t think so. I’d like to think that the enjoyment I have in seeing this process or people succeed is a good thing. How can you not like a feel good story? (See below)

Take a look at what I am talking about below:

Sometimes, a hug is all that we need. Free Hugs is the real life controversial story of Juan Mann, a man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger put a smile on their face.

Shane Koyczan was bullied a lot when he was a kid. So he took that pain and made this stunning video with the help of some amazingly talented people. It’s kind of breathtaking and powerful, just a warning. Also, it has a happy ending.

Young man overcomes disability through sports

Young man, Sung-bong Choi steals the show at Korea’s Got Talent. He had no idea that he would win the hearts of millions all over the world!

SoulPancake hits the streets to see what happens when two strangers sit in a ball pit… and talk about life’s big questions.

We often head from place to place so quickly that we forget to take a break and just enjoy the moment.

The amazing Zach Hodskins. Just watch and be amazed at the level of talent from this gentlemen.
